so i made it to new orleans!
i’m tired — rik boris and i stayed up until we left the apt. at 5am. it was a good trip for me tho (happened to sit next to a guy who was sax player down here and chef in a top 10 NYC restaurant since Katrina). the boys had to fly into gulfport because of ticket prices getting bought 2 days before flying which of course was the day after the fundraiser. they’re going to drive over on I-10 this afternoon and meet me.
anyway, i got a call back from author tom piazza (Why New Orleans Matters) for an interview. we’re meeting with rebirth brass and kermit ruffins. we’re going to mardi gras and a ton of shows. good morning america is down here covering the week, so we’ll be in touch with them as well. everything’s awesome.
oh, and i hope to bring back lots of beads and king cake for you guys.
